BRISTOL, R.I. — The newest K9 with the Bristol Police Department has gone viral after he fell asleep on the chief’s desk during his swearing-in ceremony.
In a Facebook Live video, School Resource Officer Patrolman Keith Medeiros takes the oath of office in honor of K-9 Brody, as the puppy lays on the chief’s desk with his eyes closed.

WJAR reports K9 Brody will serve as a comfort dog for the Bristol Police Department and will be involved in activities with the town’s schools. He is the town’s first comfort dog, the department told WJAR.
“I knew we had a winning formula for the town,” Medeiros said. “This is a very good example of making a difference. He’s going to be a superstar for the town of Bristol. You can guarantee it.”
