WHITE SETTLEMENT, Texas — Officers intercepted a man they believed was about to kill a man and then take his own life, CBS News Texas reported.

Police received a panicked 911 call from a man who said a man named Steven Silva was “going to shoot him over a personal issue related to a female friend,” according to the report.

Officers arrived at the caller’s residence and saw Silva at his front door, armed with a .22 caliber rifle. Body camera video shows Silva complying with officers’ commands. He was arrested on charges of unlawful carrying of a weapon, possession of a controlled substance and terroristic threat.

“Had officers arrived a few seconds later, this could have been a very different outcome,” said White Settlement police Chief Christopher Cook. “This showcases the types of situations our officers face on a routine basis.”
