Title: The Eleventh Plague: A Novel of Medical Terror
Author: John S. Marr, M.D., & John Baldwin
“Move over Richard Preston. Step aside Robin Cook. Wait in line Michael Palmer. The Eleventh Plague welcomes two new members to your terror-hood. READ IT & CHILL.”
-Lorenzo Carcaterra, author of Sleepers
The Eleventh Plague, sui generis, is fiction. But the men and women of the Federation of American Scientists, SatelLife, and World Health Organization, who created and continue to support the concept of ProMED, are quite real. This book is dedicated to these scientists and to ProMED-mail. ProMED mail may be our best hope should fact follow fiction.

These two authors have conspired on an interesting theory/story, of which the culprit, has apparently re-developed the TEN PLAGUES which were originally sent against man in Moses’ time. Only this time it’s a man who is killing many people, in many circumstances seemingly not thru murder at all, but by virus’, and other naturally developed plagues. Let’s hope this never comes to pass.
Once again, I have relied upon my friend Tom, over at the Book Rack to help me select a book which is both interesting, and in this case so sinister that it could become a reality. Tom’s knowledge of such books, and his thousands of books on hand, his willingness to help me find interesting books to read, allow me to rely on him saving me time & effort. Thanks again, Tom.
A computer/internet accessed communication network, Pro/MED which is overseen by Jack Bryne, a noted virologist, is eventually hacked into by the culprit/madman. Bryne is eventually thought to be the bad-guy, and the FBI begin keeping an eye on Jack, as he has all the requisite skills and expertise necessary. Bryne’s closest friends & wife, are targeted, and his life is in danger too. Finally, the truth comes thru & Jack Bryne must help stop this madman before all of New York is hit with Plague.
Bottomline:
Let’s hope that we never have to battle someone such as this Kameron the diabolical madman, in The Eleventh Plague. It’s tough enough battling an enemy we can actually see, let alone a series of Plagues, being made and distributed by a Madman. This story’s seemingly impossibility is exactly what makes it such an intriguing read. Let’s hope we never have to deal with this What If?!!! Well done and expertly written. If you’re a reader who likes Suspenseful, Gripping storylines, then The Eleventh Plague is just the book for you.
