More Than 525 motorists snagged for failing to wear seat belts
A joint effort by several Utah police departments resulted in more than 525 seat-belt citations in just two hours Monday in Midvale.
Draper, Taylorsville, South Jordan, West Valley City, Salt Lake City, Syracuse and Midvale police all participated in the saturation period, the kickoff to the Utah Department of Safety’s Click It or Ticket campaign.
“The purpose of this is to get people to buckle up,” Utah Highway Patrol Col. Scott Duncan said. “Getting people to wear seat belts will save more lives than anything else we can do.”
