COLLEGE PARK, Ga.- A man was shot by police twice in the same shoulder at two different times on the same night.

The girlfriend of 33-year-old Kenyatta Bostic called police with a domestic violence complaint early Saturday, but Bostic was gone when officers arrived, said Clayton County Police Capt. Jeff Turner.

He returned soon after, but when officers ordered him to turn off his car’s engine he sped off, barely avoiding an officer who dived out of the way, Turner said.

An officer fired through the car’s passenger window, hitting Bostic in the shoulder.

Police chased him through the Atlantic metropolitan area until Bostic returned to his girlfriend’s apartment complex, where he crashed his car and set out on foot. An officer caught up with him and ordered him to hold up his hands.

“He refused to show his hands. Then he turned abruptly at the officer and the officer struck him in the same bad shoulder,” Turner said.

Bostic was treated at a hospital and released. He was being held on charges of aggravated assault on a police officer, criminal trespass and traffic violations.
