Michigan crime analysts
get space boost
[Saginaw, MI]

Police1 Staff Report
(SAGINAW, Mich.) -- An expansion of the state police crime lab is underway and expected to be completed in the spring.

The $500,000 project at the Bridgeport Post includes a 2,000-square-foot expansion of the complex, The Saginaw News reports. The expansion will allow newer crime-detecting equipment to be utilized.

Scientists at lab analyze narcotics, clothing, body fluids, hair and fiber samples, firearms, fingerprints and footwear impressions, the newspaper said.

“The addition will improve working conditions, and it will allow us to more easily conduct analyses,” State Police Lt. Robin Bratton told the newspaper. “It will also provide office space outside the lab.”
