A suspect accused of running over a Raleigh police officer was shot by another officer and is recovering at Wake Medical Center. The injured officer, J.M. Rios, was treated and released from Wake Medical Center this morning.
Raleigh Police say just after midnight Sunday morning, two officers attempted to pull over a car that had been reported stolen.
The driver of that car reportedly pulled into the parking lot of the Crown Station at the intersection of Capital Boulevard and Brentwood Road.
The suspect then ran over Officer Rios. The second officer, V.J. Espinoza then shot the suspect.
The State Bureau of Investigation is now conducting an investigation into the incident.
