(ST. LOUIS)-- Harold B. Reed, a retired patrolman for the St. Louis Police Department, died Nov. 22 of infirmities at Green Park Nursing Home in Affton. He was 88 and had lived in St. Louis.
Officer Reed served the city police department for more than 40 years, retiring in 1982.
He was a member of the St. Louis Police Veterans Association, St. Louis Police Post 187, the Old Time Motorcycle Rider’s organization and Epiphany Lutheran Church in St. Louis.
Officer Reed served about two years in the Navy during World War II.
A funeral service was held Nov. 25 at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons Funeral Home, 7027 Gravois Avenue. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Affton.
Among survivors are his wife, Justine Wykry Reed of St. Louis; a daughter, Lynn Goetz of St. Louis; two stepdaughters, Elizabeth Greaves of St. Louis and Michele Condon of St. Louis County; two stepsons, Paul Goldak of St. Louis County and John Goldak of Sugarland, Texas; two grandchildren; and seven step-grandchildren.
