WASHINGTON, D.C. — A shooting is under investigation near Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
Metropolitan Police Department Lieutenant Jimmie Riley says the incident began around 8:30 a.m. near the hospital’s entrance on Georgia Avenue near Dahlia Street, Northwest.
Riley says two contract security guards argued and one of the officers drew his service weapon. As many as 10 shots may have been fired as one officer ran to a nearby house and asked a resident to call 911.
Police took both guards into custody.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fourth District are investigating the case.
