Suspect in viral ‘brutality’ video charged with resisting arrest

Matt Hefferon was also charged with obstruction, but acquitted of tampering and criminal mischief

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – A Loveland man who gained international attention over a video of him being shoved by a Fort Collins police officer in Old Town Square has been convicted of obstructing and resisting arrest.

Matt Hefferon and two friends were charged following a March incident in which the three got into a confrontation with a pedi-cab driver after accidentially breaking a tailight.

The video, posted to YouTube, garnered hundreds of thousands of views and international attention, and police Chief John Hutto launched an internal investigation into the matter.
