FORT WORTH, Tex. — A Fort Worth police officer was injured early Tuesday morning in an accident on Interstate 35W at Western Center Boulevard.

The officer crawled out of his wrecked police car and called for help. Police said a tire on the car blew out, causing the officer to lose control of the vehicle.

According to police, the officer was responding to a domestic disturbance call near the accident scene at the time of the wreck. The police car rolled several times before coming to rest on its side, police said.

The officer was taken to Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital for treatment. His injuries were not considered life threatening.
