Three Parking Officers Fired For Writing Bogus Tickets

The Associated Press

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -- Three city parking-enforcement officers have been fired for writing dozens of bogus tickets to people they held vendettas against.

The uniformed officers were terminated in June, according to the Times Union of Albany, which reported the story in Saturday’s edition.

Police identified the fired officers as Aaron Turner, 22; Shannon Rockenstire, 31, and Joseph Carlino, 27.

The officers were among the most prolific ticket writers in the city, accounting for a combined 19,200 tickets this year, the newspaper reported.

Police said victims of the bogus tickets were not immediately aware they had been targeted since the tickets were not left on their cars. Charges against the three officers will not be filed, said police, adding there was no criminal intent in the scheme.
