WATERLOO, Iowa — A Waterloo man has been charged with burglary after allegedly breaking into a truck and getting locked inside. Cash Burch, 24, was arrested Wednesday after the owner of a Ford Explorer found him inside his vehicle and called police.
The owner, Mark Laures, said Burch could not get out because the Explorer has an anti-theft device that activates when the battery loses power. Laures said Burch wore down the battery trying to start the Explorer and became locked inside.
Burch damaged the dashboard trying to escape but was still inside the truck when officers arrived. Police opened the door from the outside and charged him with third-degree burglary.
