PASADENA, Texas — The Pasadena Police Department posted a video to their Facebook page showing one of their officers rescuing a kitten from a highway overpass.
Officer Galvan stopped to get gas July 15 when he heard the cries of a kitten coming from the highway, according to the report. He spotted the kitten, who appeared to be unable to get down from the overpass, with his flashlight.
The officer drove up onto the overpass and saw the animal wedged between drain openings at the bottom of a barrier. The officer was able to free the kitten, but it clawed, scratched and bit him. As a result, the officer lost his grip and the kitten ran back under the barrier.
“Officer Galvan regrouped, licked his wounds, grabbed his gloves and lock out device,” the Facebook post reads.
The second attempt was successful. After the kitten calmed down, it received water and was sent to an animal shelter.
A follow-up video was posted by the department that shows the kitten looking content and playing with another kitten in the shelter.
