SOMERVILLE, Mass. — A woman has been killed by police and three officers have suffered knife wounds in a morning domestic dispute in Massachusetts.

Authorities say police went to a home in Somerville at about 6:30 a.m. Friday after a man called to say his girlfriend had lunged at him with a knife and tried to set his clothes on fire.

When officers arrived, they say 33-year-old Carol Lynn Kingsley went after them with a knife. An officer fired a shot, killing her.

The injured officers were treated for stab wounds to the hands, arms, shoulders and back and released from a hospital.

Mayor Joseph Curtatone says the officers acted as they were trained.

Authorities say police had responded to the same home at about 3 a.m. after a neighbor reported shouting.
