TEMPLE, Texas — A Texas-based prison transport company will close after an inmate accused of killing two people escaped last week.
Inmate Cedrick Marks, a trained MMA fighter, escaped from custody and led investigators on a nine-hour manhunt while being transferred to a Texas jail from Michigan, Click 2 Houston reports.
Marks was later caught after being found in a Texas resident’s trash can behind their house.
According to police, Marks refused to take a required tuberculosis skin test in order to be flown to the prison, so he had to be transported by van.
Bell County Sheriff Eddy Lange said what happened last week was a disaster and he’s grateful Marks was captured so he can face his charges.
