Calif. gang sweep nets 6

PARADISE, Calif. A gang sweep through Paradise netted six arrests Wednesday afternoon.

Officers went out in teams to check on area residences from 5 to 9 p.m., according to a Paradise police press release. The teams specifically checked on people on probation, parole or had active warrants.

Modesto resident Edward Wade, 32, was arrested on two outstanding Paradise police warrants and on suspicion of possessing a controlled substances, stolen property and identity theft.

Crystal Brite, 19, of Modesto, was arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance, stolen property and drug paraphernalia.

Police arrested Paradise resident Thomas Devlin, 31, for a parole violation and on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia as well as being an ex-felon possessing ammunition.

Paradise resident Tanya Reeser, 36, was arrested on no-bail county felony warrants for violating probation and possessing stolen property. Police also allege she possessed marijuana and violated probation.

Steven Max, 43, of Paradise, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Police arrested Shane Kittelson, 39, on a parole violation.

All six were booked into Butte County Jail in Oroville.

The sweeps are conducted monthly throughout the county. On Wednesday, Paradise officers were joined by six other agencies, including the county Sheriff’s Office, county probation and parole and the Chico, Gridley, Oroville and Chico State University police departments.
