ATLANTA, Ga. — A man armed with six weapons and and also body armor walked into a grocery store Wednesday, an unsettling incident just two days after 10 people were killed in a mass shooting at a Colorado grocery store.
The manager of a Publix store called police at 1:30 p.m. after the man walked in carrying a long rifle and went straight to a restroom, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. When the man exited the restroom, he was quickly taken into custody, police tell the Journal-Constitution.
Rico Marley, 22, was charged with reckless conduct after the incident, NBC News reports. It’s unclear what his motive was and he is undergoing a psychiatric evaluation.
Police reportedly found six weapons on Marley, including two long rifles and four handguns.
The arrest happened two days after the mass shooting at a King Soopers supermarket in Boulder, Colo. It’s also just over a week since eight people were killed in shootings at spas in the Atlanta area.
