LOCHBUIE, Colo. — A community is mourning an officer who was killed in a crash on his way to work Friday night.
Fox31 reported that Officer Michael Anderson was off-duty, but was on his way to the department for his shift when the fatal crash occurred.
Locals said Anderson’s death is the first in 40 years that an active officer has died.
Anderson leaves behind a daughter. A GoFundMe has been set up in his memory.
The Colorado State Patrol is investigating the crash.
