PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. — Police say a school bus driver, 61-year-old Arturo Roberto Harris, left four students unattended on a bus in front of High Point High School on Monday morning. The bus then drifted across Powder Mill Road and hit a 7-year-old who was waiting at a bus stop.
Matt Knight says his training as a Baltimore County auxiliary officer helped him safely pull the boy from under the bus. He stayed with the boy until paramedics arrived, and made sure Harris stayed at the scene.
Harris faces charges of reckless endangerment, leaving a child unattended, and several traffic charges related to the accident.
