BURNET, Texas — A Burnet police officer died Friday after suffering a heart attack just hours after participating in K-9 training.

KXAN reports Officer Jose Meza was pronounced dead shortly after EMS transported him to the hospital. A press release issued by the department stated that his death is being considered to have happened in the line of duty because he trained with his K-9 partner just hours before his death.
