MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. — A deputy was struck by a drunk driver after the suspect ran a red light.
Dash camera footage shows the deputy driving through a blinking yellow stoplight Saturday before a drunk driver slams into the patrol car. Police told WJBK that the light was flashing red for the suspect.
Police said the 27-year-old driver ran the red light and t-boned the deputy. The deputy was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released to recover at home, The Detroit News reported.
The driver was arrested after a breathalyzer showed she had a .12 blood alcohol content. Police said the driver and a passenger in the suspect’s car were not injured.
