PENSACOLA, Fla. — A woman is facing multiple charges after attacking a corrections officer and several deputies at a Florida jail.
According to local news station WKRG, 27-year-old Iesha Allen started yelling and screaming at a 74-year-old corrections officer after she learned she wasn’t approved for video visitation at Escambia County Jail. Allen hit the officer three times on her back.
The officer called for help and deputies found Allen walking towards the sheriff’s office with her child as they tried to stop her. When they asked her to put her child down, she refused. Police say she gripped the child who started screaming.
Police were able to get her into a patrol car as she was kicking and screaming. A deputy was kicked when they got her to the sheriff’s office. It took four deputies to get her to the booking area.
Allen is charged with two counts of battery on a law enforcement officer, battery domestic violence, battery on an elderly person and threatening to kill an officer.
