BALTIMORE — A city police officer responding to a domestic disturbance at a Northwest Baltimore house early this morning shot a man during an altercation, a department spokesman said.
Northwestern District patrol officers were called to the 3800 block of Thorndale Ave. about 4:15 a.m. for a report of a man beating his girlfriend and child, a police spokesman said. The man tried to hide, and then fought with officers, police said. One of the officers shot the man in the leg, and he was taken to Sinai Hospital for treatment.
The man was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening, according to Officer Troy Harris, a police spokesman.
The officers were not injured. The city Police Department is conducting an internal investigation into the officer-involved shooting
