MOBILE, Ala.- A former Prichard policeman was killed early Monday after being shot once in a struggle with a female Prichard officer, who said she was trying to get away from him when he forcibly entered her motel room, Mobile police said.
Officers found Keenan Gamble, 32, dead outside room 114 at the Rest Inn on Government Boulevard about 12:45 a.m. Paula Wyatt, 37, was also at the scene when the officers arrived.
Police said homicide investigators determined that Gamble and Wyatt had been dating and recently ended their relationship. According to the statement, Wyatt told investigators she checked into the motel to get away from Gamble after he made threats to harm her.
