NEW YORK — Authorities say a man who had been fired from his job shot his former bosses, killing one and seriously wounding another. Then he shot at a pedestrian before he was killed in a confrontation with police on Staten Island.
Police say the ex-bosses let 48-year-old Ilya Iglanov into their home, where he opened fire with a semi-automatic pistol. He then shot Semyom Levin in head and Marina Tartakouskaya in the torso.
Levin died at the scene.
Tartakouskaya was able to escape despite the wound, and asked a couple outside to call police. She’s hospitalized in serious condition.
Officers eventually discovered Iglanov barricaded in a closet. Police say he ignored commands to drop his loaded handgun and they fired. It’s not clear how many shots were fired.
