AUSTIN, Texas— Newly released body camera video shows a man holding a woman with multiple stab wounds while walking towards officers with a knife, the Austin American-Statesman reported.
The Austin Police Department released footage on Feb. 2 of the Jan. 21 shooting, according to the report. As Officer Cody Crumplar arrived at the scene, screams could be heard coming from inside the home.
Video shows Crumplar breaking down the door to the home. Once inside, blood can be seen on the floor. As officers entered the house, Jose Reynaldo Martinez-Argueta emerged from a hallway holding a woman in one arm and a knife in the other. As Martinez-Argueta held up the weapon, officers fired several shots at him, bringing the suspect to the ground.

Officers located the body of the victim, identified as Maryuri Leticia Reconco-Moncada, inside the house. Martinez-Argueta is accused of fatally stabbing Reconco-Moncada, with whom he was in a relationship, according to the report.
Two other people, including the woman seen in the video, were found with stab wounds and were taken to the hospital. Three children in the house were unharmed.
Martinez-Argueta survived and has been charged with murder and aggravated assault, according to the report.
