GREEN BAY, Wis. — A Green Bay police officer escaped with minor injuries after his motorcycle was struck by a hit-and-run driver. Police released dashcam video of the dramatic incident.

In the video, Sgt. Sean Hamill is standing next to his motorcycle after pulling over a driver. While Hamill is entering data on his motorcycle’s mobile computer, a driver blows past, clipping the motorcycle and sending it crashing to the ground. Hamill jerks back, just inches away from disaster.

“Thankfully, the officer was standing next to the motorcycle when this occurred, sustaining minor injuries,” police say.

The driver fled but was apprehended a short time later, police said. The suspect was charged with hit-and-run resulting in injury, inattentive driving and operating without a valid license.
