Crosstac was born from the unquenchable desire to be as accurate with a round as possible. Its mission is sharply focused, to create gear that gives more precision from the ground up.
What was the inspiration behind starting your company?
Much of the gear available in the tactical world lacks well-thought out features that truly provide a better shooting experience. Rather than try to modify what was often already poorly made to begin with, we got inspired. Every person on the Crosstac team is a “thinking” shooter or an “accuracy engineer” as we like to call it. We consider every piece of gear to be an opportunity to add more precision or create a better shooting experience.
Our Long Range Shooting Mat, for instance, doesn’t just put something between you and the ground – it has a built-in bipod rail functioning as an anchor for faster, more accurate follow up shots and its carefully chosen padding provides comfort yet minimizes bounce. Accuracy and performance are the name of the game, and if every piece of your gear doesn’t work toward achieving it, you create barriers to being the best you can be. That’s our inspiration every day.
Why do you believe your products are essential to the police community?
Our slings have become a law enforcement staple thanks to their strength, configurability and dynamic features. Our new carry belts are a breakthrough in extended wear comfort – constructed with an internal layer stiff enough to stand up to whatever you carry on it, yet thin and flexible, with the ability to carry a hidden back up knife or cuff key. Crosstac understands how gear needs to perform on a daily basis to make life better.
What has been the biggest challenge your company has faced?
Our biggest challenge as a small but growing company is getting the word out about what we do. The challenge of making smarter gear is driven by our passion. We’re learning how to communicate that passion more every day but the good news is that our products tend to speak for themselves. When people get our gear in their hands, they love it. Positive word of mouth has helped us make an impact.
What makes your company unique?
We’re all shooters at Crosstac. We’re not in the business to simply build and sell; we’re in it to creatively find ways to improve performance. We also love connecting with customers. When you call, you get a real person who is not just eager to assist but eager to learn your specific needs and go all out to take care of you. We listen, we act.

What’s next for your company? Any upcoming projects or initiatives?
Crosstac is releasing innovative new products constantly. We’re about to launch a ‘padded’ version of our highly mobile, RECON Shooting Mat. Newly released from Crosstac is our “industry first” female QD swivel, which allows users to create a strong, QD connection point across a broad range of applications – limited only by your imagination.
