FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — An alleged drug dealer was arrested early Tuesday on several charges, including assault on a police officer, after she struggled with officers during a traffic stop.
Flagstaff police stopped the blue Honda the woman was riding in near North Fourth Street and East Second Avenue at about 1:30 a.m. for driving with its brights on. Officers arrested the 18-year-old man driving the car for driving on a suspended license and warrants and prepared to tow the car. However, the female passenger refused to get out of the car, and allegedly fought with officers from her seat, punching one in the face with a closed fist. The woman was subdued with a Taser and arrested. Nobody was badly hurt during the exchange.
Police found methamphetamine and syringes with meth residue on the woman. She is known to investigators for previous, meth-selling activity, police said.
Heather A. Weiss, 26, was booked into the Coconino County jail on charges of aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, possession of dangerous drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said she is facing additional drug-dealing charges, which are being pursued.
