PoliceOne.com Forms Editorial Advisory Board of Leading Law Enforcement Experts

SAN FRANCISCO — PoliceOne.com, the leading online information and training resource for law enforcement professionals, has announced the formation of an Editorial Advisory Board to provide direction, guidance and oversight of PoliceOne editorial efforts, including coverage of major events and special coverage initiatives.

The Editorial Advisory Board, comprised of some of the foremost experts in law enforcement, will work closely with PoliceOne editors and columnists to provide expert review of content and ensure that the site’s coverage of law enforcement issues continues to expand and improve. Board members will also help steer editorial planning efforts, and will on some occasions contribute original analysis on key issues and incidents.

The PoliceOne Editorial Advisory Board brings together individuals with decades of experience on a wide range of critical police topics, issues and trends:

Paul Cappitelli

Paul Cappitelli served as executive director for the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST). Prior to his POST appointment, he retired at the rank of captain from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department in California, following 29 years of service. He is currently a public safety consultant.

Keith Graves

Keith is a retired police sergeant who worked in the San Francisco Bay Area for 29 years. He was named as California’s Narcotics Officer of the Year and is a prior winner of MADD’s California Hero Award.

Booker Hodges

Dr. Booker Hodges currently holds the rank of undersheriff for the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Dr. Hodges is the only active police officer in the history of the NAACP to serve as a branch president, a position he held for five years.

Matthew Horace

Matthew Horace is a law enforcement and security analyst and commentator on CNN, MSNBC, CBS and FOX. He is a security executive and a professor teaching crisis communications at the Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Criminal Justice.

William J. Lewinski

Dr. William Lewinski, PhD, is a leading behavioral scientist whose work has focused primarily on the intensive study of the human dynamics involved in high stress, life-threatening encounters. He is the executive director the Force Science Institute.

Dan Marcou

Lt. Dan Marcou is an internationally-recognized police trainer who was a highly-decorated police officer with 33 years of full-time law enforcement experience.

Mildred K. O’Linn

Mildred K. O’Linn is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Manning & Kass, Ellrod, Ramirez, Trester LLP. She has an unparalleled background as an attorney and technical expert in peace officer civil liability, training and tactics and the defense of governmental entities. She was a police officer for eight years at the Kent State University Police Department. Subsequently, she served as the Legal and Technical Advisor for the Law Enforcement Television Network, Inc. (LETN).

Danielle Outlaw

Chief Danielle Outlaw was sworn in as chief of police for the Portland Police Bureau in October 2017. She began her career with the Oakland Police Department as an Oakland police explorer.

Joel Shults

Joel Shults retired as chief of police in Colorado. Over his 30-year career in uniformed law enforcement and criminal justice education, Joel served in a variety of roles: academy instructor, police chaplain, deputy coroner, investigator and community relations officer, among others.

Dave Smith

Dave “Buck Savage” Smith is an internationally recognized law enforcement speaker, trainer, video personality and author.

Gregory Smith

Gregory Smith is vice president for Law Enforcement Education and Director of the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration.

Bridget Thomerson

Major Bridget Thomerson is currently assigned as the commander of the training division for the Louisville Metro Police Department in Kentucky.

Mike Wood

Lieutenant Colonel (ret.) Mike Wood is an NRA Law Enforcement Division-certified Firearms Instructor and the author of “Newhall Shooting: A Tactical Analysis.”
