CHICAGO — Last week, telecommunications company Motorola Solutions introduced the L6Q camera, its latest license plate reader product.

According to the company’s press release, the L6Q can be deployed and configured in just minutes, “making it ideal for targeted investigations, securing events and adding an extra layer of protection to crime hotspots.”

The L6Q, which can be used on Android or iOS, can accurately scan vehicles moving up to 75 mph and up to 75 feet away, according to the company. Additionally, the device has long-range infrared illumination and a new starlight sensor to scan vehicles in complete darkness. The camera can also integrate with Motorola Solutions’ analytics platform, the release said.
