Sidney was excited when Officer David Bonday stopped by because she wants to be a cop when she grows up

LONGMONT, Colo. — When 4-year-old aspiring police officer Sidney Fahrenbruch moved into her new home, she became worried after hearing “sounds when people weren’t up.” She was afraid the monsters would come and hurt her and her family at night. So she requested backup.

Sidney met Officer David Bonday at a fundraiser earlier this month and asked for his help searching for monsters in their new home, KDVR reported.

Bonday, who has no prior experience in monster hunting, promised he’d come help her investigate. He showed up to search the home on July 23, even letting Sidney use his flashlight to shine a light on the monsters.

“She just checked under the couch, but he wanted to make sure there weren’t any under the couch cushions,” mom Megan Fahrenbruch told KDVR. “And then they ended up going in the front yard to make sure there was no monster activity in the front yard.”

While they didn’t find any monsters, they found a friend in each other. Sidney calls Bonday her “best friend.”

“She wants to grow up and be a cop and help other people find monsters as well,” Megan Fahrenbruch said.
