TAYLOR, Mich. — A Michigan city integrating its first RADDOG 2LE robot dog, a news release states.

The Taylor Police Department announced Feb. 8 it would be adding the robotic system to its ranks, according to a release from Robotic Assistance Devices (RAD). The RADDOG 2LE is equipped with advanced mobility, surveillance tools and patrolling functions.

“This tool can be used as an additional resource for multiple emergency situations that can help law enforcement,” the police department stated on Facebook. “The robot can be deployed to assist in incidents where our officers and citizens can be in immediate danger and potentially provide a safer solution and reduce the risk in dangerous circumstances.”

The Taylor Police Department will be the first municipal police department to adopt the RADDOG, according to the company.

“We are honored to partner with the City of Taylor and its Police Department. This deployment marks a significant achievement for RAD, demonstrating the trust and confidence that the City of Taylor has placed in our technology. We believe that RADDOG 2LE will prove to be a game-changer in enhancing the capabilities of the Taylor Police Department.”
