Seven American soldiers were found safe and well in Iraq on Sunday after their captors apparently fled from U.S. Marines advancing on Saddam Hussein’s crumbling northern bastion of Tikrit. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” that two had gunshot wounds but added, “they’re in reasonably good shape.” U.S. war headquarters said they were found near Samarra, about 40 miles north of Baghdad on the Tikrit road and were flown to a U.S. air base 55 miles south of Baghdad, and from there to Kuwait. “Someone came up to our Marines moving along the road headed for Tikrit and said, ‘Here shortly you’re going to come in contact with a number of Americans, just so you know,”’ U.S. war commander Gen. Tommy Franks told Fox television. “The Iraqi guards evidently were deserted by their officers, and the guards themselves brought the American prisoners of war to the Marines,” said Lt. Col. Nick Morano at Marine headquarters southeast of Baghdad.

Gentlemen....we’re receiving many inquiries, asking if Informed Source knows why the Chief News Executive at CNN News is finally “owning up” to deliberately suppressing his knowledge of atrocities in Iraq. The general take here is that this was nothing more than a rush to “out” himself before someone else “outed” CNN. CNN has been betraying America with it’s un-American, anti-American, anti -war propaganda-when they’ve known all the while the atrocities in Iraq, and deliberately and purposely covered them up. Definition: DISINFORMATION - The deliberate release of false or misleading information with the deliberate intent to deceive. (Isn’t this a chargeable crime called Conspiracy?)
A little about CNN. CNN has been commonly referred to as the Clinton News Network, and before that, the Communist News Network -was founded by Ted Turner (who, you may remember, married Hanoi Jane). It is owned by AOL/Time/Warner. They employed Peter Arnett. They even financed Arnett when he slandered a report on Viet Nam , charging Americans with purposely gassing innocents as well as our own American troops.
* Terrorist Cells/Operative Update:
As we recently advised personnel, several suspects were picked in during plans to hit Las Vegas. Here’s an update:
Members of a terrorist sleeper cell arrested with video footage of the MGM Grand wanted to destroy Las Vegas, a place one referred to as the “City of Satan,” a key government witness testified
Wednesday during a federal trial in Detroit. Youssef Hmimssa said the terrorists spoke to him in August 2001 about Islamic extremist “brothers” organizing for massive attacks in the United States. Some of the men focused their enmity on Las Vegas, complaining about rich Arabs traveling there and frequenting casinos where they gambled, drank alcohol and cavorted with women, Hmimssa said. “The brothers are going to destroy it,” Hmimssa said Ahmed Hannan told him.
Prosecutors say the raid turned up a day planner that detailed planned attacks on an American air base in Turkey and a hospital in Jordan. Federal agents also recovered a videotape that prosecutors say depicts surveillance of potential targets including Disneyland and the MGM Grand, the second-largest hotel in the world. Las Vegas was one of at least three locales Hmimssa said the men on trial talked about attacking. Hmimssa testified that Elmardoudi made a comment that Las Vegas was an easy place to frequent because Arabs can “disappear easily.”
Hmimssa, 32, left Casablanca about 13 years ago, traveling around Asia and Eastern Europe before entering the United States in 1994 with a phony French passport. He worked as a taxi driver in Chicago, and became a computer systems engineer in 1999, working for a company that installed computer networks.
Hmimssa told jurors that he was recruited by the terrorist suspects for his computer skills and ability to make fake documents. He said he made fraudulent documents for Elmardoudi and was told that there was a network of Islamic extremist “brothers” organizing in the country.
He said Ali-Haimoud spoke to him in June 2001 about the brothers carrying out major attacks on the United States, and that Elmardoudi did the same just one month before jetliners crashed into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. * PA Hospitals on Terror Alert
Hospitals in Pennsylvania are on terror alert, as the State Health Department is warning hospitals about a long-distance scam where callers are acting as doctors and then calling Pakistan or Afghanistan. A spokesman for the Hospital and Health System Association of Pennsylvania said at least 20 hospitals across the state have been targeted. Similar phone calls were made immediately after the 9-11 attacks, but officials said the volume of calls is much larger now. Law Enforcement should be aware of this and similar schemes potentially related to terrorism. Information should be shared with facilities in your locality as appropriate. Germany, France and Russia got together recently and decided that they (what they said was “U.N.”, but they mean “the three of us”) should be party to whatever money could be made off the reconstruction of Iraq. (Funny, coming from three Socialist countries!)
* EMAIL WORM PRETENDS TO HAVE SATELLITE IMAGES
A new e-mail worm has surfaced that purports to show screensavers of U.S. surveillance satellite pictures of Iraq, or animations that are either patriotic or that mock President Bush. The worm, dubbed Ganda-A, spreads by sending itself to e-mail addresses on an infected machine and tries to disable anti-virus and other security software and infect certain files on the hard disk.
* A Story coming out of Najaf/Karbala:
“I was out looking at some soldiers and one of them was sharing some cookies he had just received in the mail. A photographer walked over to him and asked in a heavy French accent for a cookie. The soldier glanced up and told him, ‘No cookies for anyone from France.’ The photographer claimed he was half Italian. Without missing a beat the soldier broke a cookie in half and handed him half!”
* Funny!
In a top-secret meeting to all of Saddam’s body-doubles who were gathered together for a briefing in a bunker in Baghdad, Saddam’s personal physician addressed them stating: “Praise be to Allah! I have some good news for you all! Saddam has survived the attacks by the Americans! The great Saddam has suffered only one injury, praise be to Allah, he only lost his right arm.....!
