This program was developed to help public safety personnel to understand the dynamics of crowds and associated behaviors of individuals in a crowd setting in order to better predict and mitigate potential public safety hazards.
Capt. Richards Nable, formally of Atanta and Fulton County PD,provides an overview of some of the safety risks associated with high-density crowds and with mass panic in a crowd setting. The course is based on human behavior models and practical applications through video evidence from the scenes of several different crowd tragedies. This video will cover learning to identify pre-incident indicators that a crowd may be becoming dangerous or unstable, ways to prevent or mitigate undesirable outcomes, panic behaviors that can create casualties in certain crowd events and how to plan an effective response.
