Two Calif. deputies fall off cliff during marijuana raid

One cop tried to save the other from sliding off the 30-foot cliff

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A deputy was injured as he fell off a cliff, pulling another deputy with him during a marijuana grow raid.

In the early morning hours of Tuesday, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Major Violators Unit and Kern Narcotics Enforcement Team were attempting to serve a search warrant for a marijuana grow in the remote area of Bald Mountain, in the Havilah area.

During the hike into the area, deputies said that one of the deputies lost his traction while crossing a large boulder and cliff.
