Dear Police1 Member,

For the second year in a row, National Police Week will be celebrated virtually, but that hasn’t stopped the folks at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund from creating a packed schedule of events to honor and celebrate LEOs nationwide.

The annual National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund Candlelight Vigil will take place virtually on May 13 at 8 p.m. ET. All this week, we will bring you news, videos and photos from events, which you can find on our National Police Week topic page.

In today’s newsletter, we hail the hardworking cops who go to work each day to bring hope to the hopeless, save a life and maybe a soul. We also review the number of shootings of police officers in 2020 that show LEOs in rural and remote places absorb a significant chunk of the violence directed at law enforcement over a year’s time.

Stay safe,

The Police1 Team
