Job Description

Enforces all the laws of the state and applicable federal laws. Provides law enforcement services to residents and responds to service requests. Prepares documentation and reports in a timely manner. Regular and punctual attendance is required. Patrols County, City and State roadways and assists citizens in both emergency and non-emergency situations. Responds to all calls for service. Performs traffic enforcement duties, such as directing traffic, and responding to accidents; performing DWI enforcement, writing and/or issuing citations or warnings in accordance with City, County, and/or state laws and ordinances. Completes offense and incident reports as necessary; may be required to testify in court. Apprehends criminals in a variety of both hostile and non-hostile situations. Responds to animal control calls for service. Performs other related duties as required.

Additional Information

High School graduation or GED. Possession of a valid driver's license. Must be a U.S. citizen. Certification as a Peace Officer in the State of Texas required. Must be able to work 12 hours shifts that will include Days, Nights, Weekends and Holidays.
