In this role you will directly supervises the activities of law enforcement, leading command activities of staff during emergency incidents. *_Job Overview: *_Serves as the Community’s Chief Law Enforcement Officer and direct and lead staff in enforcing state, federal and tribal laws and local ordinances. This individual will possess strong strategic planning ability, leadership skills, interpersonal and management skills; demonstrated ability to manage organizational change. The chief is administratively and operationally responsible for all law enforcement, investigations, crime prevention, protective services, liaison with external public safety agencies. The chief will possess, critical incident response experience, crisis management, proven abilities in supervision, sensitivity to diverse community and demonstrated written/oral communication and presentation skills. The chief supervises plans, organizes and directs the personnel and activities of the department.

Job Requirements:

  • Associate’s Degree in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice or related field or equivalent education (Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred)
  • Ten years of law enforcement or related experience.
  • Valid MN POST license.
  • Valid Class D driver’s license may be required with a good driving record.
  • Exhibit a high level of personal integrity and ethical conduct.
