Police Officer - Sworn starting at $54,336 (Lateral Pay and Sponsorships Available)

The Maitland Police Department is seeking qualified candidates at the level of recruit, entry, and applicants seeking lateral employment. Our police officers receive a competitive starting salary, paid time off, college tuition reimbursement, available 20-year retirement package, medical insurance for the employee at no cost, and competitive family medical packages. Base salary out of the academy with no experience and no education is ++$54,336. Up to 5% for lateral pay (prior experience)++ Additional salary incentives for specialized training and formal academic education.

Our patrol division works a unique, 12-hr schedule rotation. This includes five days on-duty, five straight days off, four days on-duty, and four straight days off.

Must be a U.S. citizen.

Good moral character

No dishonorable discharge from any branch of the military.

Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.

Vision must be correctable to 20/20 in each eye.

No misdemeanor convictions involving moral character, perjury of false statements as outlined in Florida Statutes.

No felony convictions

No pending criminal charges

Must pass a physical agility test, panel interview, polygraph or CVSA examination, background investigation, medical screening and a psychological exam.
