Gang Investigator/GREAT Instructor

ESSENTAIL FUCTIONS OF THE JOB:

Must be knowledgeable in current gang activity, both locally and nationally.

Must be able to communicate well with middle school aged children.

Conduct gang investigations and prosecute working closely with CID and the District Attorney’s Office.

Assist gang members who want to exit their gang ties to safely do so with resources available.

Research incident reports and designate if they are gang affiliated when they may meet the criteria.

Active Georgia P.O.S.T Certified Officer

Graduation from G.R.E.A.T Instructor’s School or ability to pass such school.

80 hours of gang-specific training from a recognized law enforcement training facility.

One year demonstrated experience in gang investigations and/or a local or regional gang task force.

Knowledge of modern methods and practices of criminal investigation and identification.

$2, 500 Sign on bonus

• Age: 21 & Up
• Education: High School Diploma/GED
• Experience: Four years law enforcement experience.

Training/Education: Preferred experience in: developing and managing gang prevention and/or intervention programs and plans; investigation experience and involvement with inter-agency efforts. License or Certificate: Possession of, or ability to obtain an appropriate valid driver’s license and maintain Georgia P.O.S.T Certification. Conditions of Employment: Must be available for callout on a 24-hour basis for major incidents occurring in the City of Brunswick, Georgia.
