A deputy sheriff shall at all times within the limits of his/her abilities protect life and property, preserve the peace, prevent crimes, investigate, detect, arrest and cite violators of the law. Enforce the law of the Unite States, State of Nevada, and the ordinances of Mineral County, Nevada, in which the Mineral County Sheriff's Office has jurisdiction. A deputy sheriff may be assigned to the patrol, detention, investigation, and/or communications divisions within the Sheriff's Office. A deputy sheriff shall prepare, present material and participate in law enforcement information sessions/training/public programs, etc., to schools, organizations, clubs, and/or other public groups when directed by the Sheriff. A deputy sheriff shall carry out and and all other duties as instructed by the Sheriff, or any other superior officer, of the department. Work involves an element of physical danger.
- Age: Must be 21 years of age
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Copy of certificate required.
- Experience: Nevada P.O.S.T. certified preferred, but not required.
