NJPTC/SLEO II Certified Police Officers
The Lumberton Township Police Department is now accepting applications for the position of Full-Time Police Officer. Applicants shall possess a current NJ PTC Basic Police Officer Certificate or waivable NJ PTC SLEO II Certificate and be under no contractual obligation to another department under NJSA 40A:14-178 or must be willing to satisfy any training reimbursement to a prior department.
MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS
- Must be a resident of New Jersey at the time of appointment and a citizen of the United States
- Must be at least 18 years of age and be able to meet the requirements of the New Jersey Police and Firemen’s Pension System (PFRS).
- Shall have graduated from high school or possess a General Equivalency Degree (GED).
- Ability to perform all the tasks and duties of a Police Officer.
- Possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license at the time of appointment.
- No indictable criminal history conviction and of good moral character.
- Must possess a PTC Certification, Special Class II certification or an Alternate Route Certificate

ABOUT OUR DEPARTMENT
Lumberton Township Police Department is comprised of 24 officers. Specialized units include; Special Investigations, Patrol, SRO, Firearms Unit and Field Training Unit to name a few.
