Job Description
Town of Southern Shores is located in the beautiful Outer Banks of North Carolina and is a coastal community, with a year round population of approximately 3000, and seeks highly motivated and qualified candidates for position of police officer to perform general law enforcement duties which may include, but not be limited to: Protection of life and property, enforcement of laws and ordinances, investigating traffic accidents; answering calls for service and complaints; preventing and investigating criminal activity; testifying in court; performing related work as required which includes frequent interaction with the pubic; writing detailed and factual reports.

Job Requirements
- Age: 21+
- Education: High school diploma
- Experience: Basic Law Enforcement Certification
Prior law enforcement experience preferred but not required; completion of high school/GED; NC Basic Law Enforcement Training Certification; possession of valid NC driver’s license at time of appointment; willing to work rotating shifts; and, possession of computer skills needed to support job functions; prefer applicant reside within 20 miles of town limits.
