Job Description
A Public Safety Officer 2 performs the full duties of a police officer, firefighter and EMT, which include preserving the peace; preventing and detecting crimes; protecting life and property; responding to fire, medical and other emergencies; enforcing laws and public ordinances; and, maintaining a public service approach towards the Sunnyvale community. Schedules: Patrol- 4/11 rotating = 4 on/4 off
Fire- Kelly Schedule 24 hour shift= 1 day on, 1 day off, 1 day on , 1 day off, 1day on , 4 days off **(Fire is off an average of 20 days a month)**

-Fire Truck Operator -Hazardous Material Team

Job Requirements
- Age: Be at least 21 years of age at time of appointment
- Education: Possess 60 Semester or 90 quarter units from an accredited college
- Experience: Hiring New and Lateral Officers
-Be in excellent health
-No felony or certain misdemeanor convictions
Lateral Qualification:
-Meet the minimum qualifications
-Successful completion of POST approved police academy
-Two years of experience in police work (Expedited Lateral Process)
-Successful completion of WSTB (Physical Agility Exam)
