The Toledo Police Department is looking to hiring 31 people for the position of police officer. Our application period runs through December 31st 2020. 31 week PAID full-time police academy (You will make close to $25.00 an hour while in the academy). Health care, uniforms and equipment are all provided by the department.
Numerous opportunities throughout your career: Accident Investigator, drone operator, mountain bike patrol, critical incident negotiator, school resource officer, full-time SWAT unit, Vice unit, Gang unit, K9 unit, detective (homicide, SVU, Cold case, property crimes, missing persons, crime scene investigation), task forces (FBI, US Marshalls, DEA, ATF, Northwest Ohio bomb squad) as well as many other positions.
Department athletic teams: basketball, softball, hockey, golf, flag football, and soccer.
Pay and Benefits 2020
Academy Trainee: $24.713 hour/ $51,402.878 yearly
Probationary officer: $26.258 hour/ $54,616.951 yearly
Police Officer (1 year): $27.802 hour/ $57.828.795 yearly
Police Officer (2 year): $29.348 hour/ $61,042.868 yearly
Police Officer (full rate): $30.892 hour/ $64,254.712 yearly
Police Sergeant (full rate): $38.615 hour/ $80,319.200 yearly
Police Lieutenant (full rate): $44.986 hour/ $93,570.880 yearly
Police Captain (full rate): $50.835 hour/ $105,736.800 yearly
*All rates are base pay, numerous other off duty and over time opportunities*
