Job Description

The Hot Springs County Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking a motivated individual looking to join our proactive team as our second in command Patrol Captain working directly under the Sheriff. We are seeking a candidate to help us maintain a safe, community orientated, and approachable law enforcement presence within our amazing pro law enforcement community.

Potential candidates should have at least 3 years of supervisory experience but the right candidate may be considered, Must be a currently certified law enforcement in good standing, have an understanding of administrative duties that will be required for a senior administrator, Must be willing to work patrol shifts and overtime, Must be willing to move to Hot Springs County, have a general knowledge of how county government and budgets work, Must be a high school graduate or equivalent. Candidates must possess a current driver’s license with a safe driving record, no Felony convictions, and no misdemeanor Domestic Violence convictions. Candidates must be of good moral character (as determined by a thorough background investigation), be free of any physical, emotional, or mental condition which could adversely affect the performance of the duties of a Peace Officer (as determined by a complete medical examination and comprehensive psychological test), Wyoming POST certified officers are preferred but lateral officers from other states are accepted. Successful candidates will be required to undergo a background examination, drug test, medical test, physical exam; he or she must be eligible for Wyoming POST certification requirements if transferring in from another state.

Hot Springs County is an equal opportunity employer. Pay range for Patrol Captain is $4400/month or $52,800 a year DOE. Benefits include full Wyoming retirement after 20 years, medical, dental, vision, paid holidays, sick time, take home vehicle and paid vacation.
