The company's user-friendly software allows law enforcement agencies to make changes seamlessly

Company name: Frontline Public Safety Solutions
Headquarters: Downers Grove, Ill.
Signature Product: Body Worn Camera Audit Software.

1. Where did your company name originate from?
We wanted to have a name that law enforcement could relate with and understand they are our clients.  We thought of Frontline Public Safety Solutions because our law enforcement partners are truly frontline heroes.

2. What was the inspiration behind starting your company?
I was a detective in a suburb in Illinois and noticed our police department and everyone around us used excel and word to manage day to day operation. We knew there had to be a better way and that is what we started to create. Easy to use databases to make law enforcement agencies more efficient and get true reports in seconds.

3. What is your signature product and how does it work?
Our signature product is our Body Worn Camera Audit Software. We are first to market to come up with a way to allow supervisors to be able to review random BWC video and track the good and possibly the bad tactics they observe. There is an alerting side so if an officer has failed a question multiple times over a certain time frame our software will notify the supervisor of that. We have full reports to show how many audits they have done, what is the pass/fail percentage rates, how many times we had to do training on the officer and many more capabilities.

4. Why do you believe your products are essential to the police community?
All of our software is designed for police and communication centers. We find the hurt or need that is needed in every day work and try to come up with an easy solution to get them away from a pen and paper and filing cabinets.

5. What has been the biggest challenge your company has faced?
The biggest challenge with BWC audits is educating law enforcement on the importance of doing these audits. It is a way to manage risk and has the potential to lower liability costs. Once we show leadership what our software can do and explain the benefits, it is very well received.

6. What makes your company unique?
I think we do a great job of listening. We hear the pain points from law enforcement every day and we want to keep making our products better so we are always updating with suggestions. We also continue to build new products, most of which are a recommendation from law enforcement in need and we do our best to build them an easy solution.

7. What do your customers like best about you and your products?
Ease of use, no question. In law enforcement, it is difficult to implement change. Our software is extremely user friendly, which makes our clients very happy. The more complicated you make it and try to have the software do more than what is needed is where we believe other vendors can get into trouble.

8. What is the most rewarding part of serving the first responder community?
Hearing the feedback from our customers is the best part. When we are talking to a new agency and they ask for referrals, we love to show them our client list and say call anyone you would like. Our clients are not just that; they are our true partners.

9. Do you support any charitable organizations within public safety or the community?
We are partnered with the Denise Amber Lee Foundation and 911er Women. Two great organizations who dedicate their lives to help communication centers be better and are great supporters for the well-being of dispatchers.

10. What's next for your company? Any upcoming new projects or initiatives?
We have a new product coming out called the Professional Standards Tracker. This is an easy-to-use cloud base platform that allows citizens to file compliments and complaints online (optional) and a way to manage your internal affairs investigation. It also has a way to track and import awards and commendations to officers. All of this is backed by a full RMS system so you can run reports and get your data in seconds.
