SEATTLE — BRINC announced the release of LEMUR 2 today – a drone designed to de-escalate conflict and improve public safety.

The LEMUR 2 features the BRINC Autonomy Engine, where the drone’s onboard LiDAR sensor creates a real-time 3D map. It also features a 360-degree standby hover that doesn’t rely on light or GPS systems, an obstacle awareness system that adjusts speed around objects and a real-time 2D floor plan.

Additional features include:

  • Sensor array, which combines 10 systems for supporting its autonomy systems.
  • Visual/night/thermal imaging and two-way comms.
  • LiDAR sensor, tracking camera, night vision illuminators, spotlight with strobe.
  • 4K camera, FLIR thermal imager, microphone and loudspeaker.
  • Mesh network compatible, allowing for multiple drones to extend each other’s range.
  • Integrated 4G LTE-powered connection, which allows drones to securely stream a live camera view and 2D floor plans off-site via BRINC LiveOps platform.

Video and data are transmitted to a BRINC controller and encrypted using AES-256 protocols, the company’s press release said. The LEMUR 2 is NDAA compliant and approved by the U.S. government for use by federal agencies and contractors.
